Atlantic Wind Energy Chief Financial Officer Al Shriner (right) here with T. Boone Pickens at the hearings on H. R. 1835 in front of the Ways and Means Committee in Washington, D.C.
Our company has supported The Pickens Plan and will continue to do so, H.R. 1835 is a crucial piece of legislation that will mandate large heavy trucks to operate on natural gas. H.R. 1835 will deploy 3.5 million of these natural gas vehicles by 2035 and would save at least 1.2 million barrels of oil per day, which is more oil than we imported from Venezuela last year, it is also more oil than was imported from Saudi Arabia.
The United States’ addiction to oil is a threat to our security and prosperity! Natural gas is a cleaner, cheaper, and a domestically abundant fuel. Creating incentives to convert the nation’s heavy and medium duty truck and bus fleets to natural gas, is essential for relying on homemade American energy, increasing our energy independence, and reducing air pollution.
Atlantic Wind Energy is present in Washington, D. C. and throughout the world assisting with alternative energy legislation, as well as projects that will assist our country and others to reduce their carbon footprint on our planet.

From the desk of T. Boone Pickens
Army,
I’m going to get straight to the point!
We imported 4.35 billion barrels of oil in 2009 at a cost of over half a million dollars per minute.
Yes, you read that correctly.
4.35 BILLION barrels imported in 2009.
Over $500,000 dollars spent per MINUTE on foreign oil.
That’s another $265 BILLION siphoned out of America’s struggling economy, and we still haven’t adopted a real energy plan to reduce our dependence on foreign oil.
For this reason I’m going back on the airwaves with a new television advertisement this week. In the ad, I encourage Americans to contact their Members of Congress immediately in support of the NAT GAS Act.
You can view the new ad here.
55,000 people have signed the petition in the past week. Let’s keep sending the message to Congress over and over and over again until they finally hear us and pass legislation to end our dangerous dependence on foreign oil.
We WILL Get this Done!
-Boone

United States to Double Wind Energy Use July 7th, 2009
Washington, DC, April 8, 2009--

Atlantic Wind Energy Founder and CEO, Thomas H. Arrington, III met with T. Boone Pickens at the introduction of the Nat Gas Act of 2009. The Atlantic Wind Energy CEO, serves as The Virginia 4th Congressional District Leader for Boone Pickens energy plan.
H.R. RES # 1835 will provide the immediate incentives and long-term stability for companies to seriously move from imported diesel and gasoline to domestic natural gas. Last month, AT&T announced a program to replace 8,000 vehicles--or one fifth of its fleet, to run on natural gas. This legislation should motivate many others, from major corporations and municipalities operating fleets to individual owner-operators, to choose a truly American fuel at the pump.

Congressman Dan Boren (D-OK), who sponsored the bill along with Congressmen John Larson (D-CT), and John Sullivan (R-OK). Congresswoman Betsy Markey (D-CO) also was present and supports this bill.
America's national and economic security depends on moving off foreign oil as quickly as possible. Natural gas is the cleanest, most abundunt, most economical domestic fuel to replace imported diesel. The United States has enough natural gas reserves to last us more than 118 years, we should turn to it as an immediate replacement for foreign oil in fleets and heavy vehicles. A battery can't move an 18 wheeler, the technology isn't there yet. Natural gas buys us a bridge to the future.
